Difference Between Eyebrow Shading and Microblading

In microblading, fine lines are drawn in the shape of hairs between the individual’s brows to enhance their beauty and make them look natural. In contrast, eyebrow shading gives a powdered effect, and there are no defined, dark outlines.

In the microblading method, a very fine eyebrow shape is drawn using a pencil, and upon approval, a special tool called “blade,” which has 12 needles, is used to delicately replace the color in a hair-like pattern. In the shading method, the entire eyebrow is covered in points that increase in density from the arch to the tail. These points are created by applying pressure on the skin, creating a shadow effect and adding volume, making the eyebrows appear fuller.

For filling empty spots on the skin, a power needle is used, creating scattered points throughout the brows.

For completely filling the eyebrows, flat needles are used, creating connected points.

Longevity of Eyebrow Shading

How to Perform Eyebrow Shading

• All makeup products must be removed and disinfected from the eyebrow area.
• Then, a numbing agent is applied to the eyebrows.
• Wait fifteen minutes for the eyebrow area to become numb.
• The brow is outlined with a pencil, and the empty areas are marked.
• Start shading from the tail of the brow towards the arch, making sure to apply more pigment at the arch to maintain a natural look in case the brow sheds.
• During the shading procedure, the eyebrow must be under control, with hand movements, sitting angle, needle direction, and needle pressure all aligned.
• If the eyebrow shading is performed very professionally and correctly, it creates a natural and beautiful look in the individual’s eyebrows.

Side Effects of Eyebrow Shading

Although this method does not have many side effects, potential issues include:

• Redness in the areas
• Minor swelling and bruising
