Eyebrow Coloring at HomeProfessional Method

Eyebrows enhance the beauty of your eyes and face. Many women use eyebrow dye or pencil to make their brows look fuller and to cover gray hairs. Sometimes, a pencil isn’t enough to achieve the desired shade, so it’s better to dye your eyebrows. This section presents the basic principles of eyebrow dyeing from the fashion world.SelmaDermaHere we present those principles.

Eyebrow Dyeing Principles

Consider your skin tone when dyeing your eyebrows

Skin tone plays a crucial role in eyebrow coloring.

  • If you have a wheatish complexion and dark brown hair, it’s best for your eyebrows to be black to enhance your attractiveness.dark brownBlack eyebrows will make your face look more appealing.
  • If you have a fair complexion and blonde hair, you should lighten your eyebrow color by one or two shades.
  • Those with olive skin and very light hair should lighten their eyebrows by four to five shades for a brighter appearance.
  • People with any skin tone who have red or hazelnut-colored hair should keep their eyebrows darker.
  • Those with fair skin and olive-colored hair should make their eyebrow color only one or two shades lighter than their hair color.
  • People with dark skin and olive-colored hair should completely lighten their eyebrows.

Eyebrow color should match hair color

Besides skin color, eyebrow color should also match hair color. Most stylists recommend that eyebrow color should be one shade darker than hair color, but not everyone agrees.

Check your skin sensitivity before dyeing

If you decide to dye your eyebrows, test your skin sensitivity by applying a drop of dye on your hand. Some dyes contain harmful substances that can irritate your skin and cause severe itching.

Select the right developer

You shouldn’t use the same developer you use for your hair on your eyebrows. Eyebrows and eyelashes are shorter than hair and absorb color faster. To prevent damage, use a weaker developer. For eyebrows, use a developer of 3 or less.

Don’t dye your eyebrows all the time

Constantly dyeing your eyebrows can lead to hair loss. Sometimes, when you change your hair color, don’t dye your eyebrows as well; instead, use a little powder or pencil to enhance their color and shape. However, if you significantly change your hair color, adjust your eyebrow color accordingly.

3. Prepare a bowl, and apply the mixture to your eyebrows using a special brush or a clean mascara wand.

4. If you want your eyebrows to be very light, keep the dye on for ten minutes; if you only want a slight lightening, five minutes will suffice.

5. During this time, you should continuously check the color of the eyebrows. Once the color is satisfactory, remove the mixture using a damp cotton ball or tissue.

6. Wash your face and dry your eyebrows with a towel.

7. If your eyebrow color turns yellow or orange, mix a few drops of purple variation with the developer, apply it to the eyebrows, and wait about 10 minutes before rinsing.
